Has man gone insane. A few will remain. Who’ll find a way, to live one more day. Through decades of war. It spreads like disease, there’s no sign of peace. Religion and greed cause millions to bleed! Three decades of war!
This song and “The Final Solution” are really the songs by Sabaton that I hold close to my heart because they describe via their lyrics the futility and pure destruction on so many levels that war brings to humankind. They are the perfect example of how Sabaton as a band show us that their songs are not about glorifying war, but that they instead bring light to both the heroic and the pathetic aspects of war and related atrocities.
This distance, this dissolution. I cling to memories while falling. Sleep brings release, and the hope of a new day. Waking the misery of being without you.
Sights a brand new horizon. Ascending from the hearts, they couldn’t see, the decline of man. The final stage of war! Spectral forces of mankind. We’re all trapped inside the core of the machine.

Min tid nalkas. Denna tid går mot sitt slut. Hela Stockholm ser mig krönas, kanoner skjut salut. Ingen ed lagd, ingen ed jag svär. Kronan kommer ej från kyrkan, den kom direkt från Gud.

My time has come. This time goes towards its end. The entirety of Stockholm sees my crowing, canons fire in salute. No oath given, no oath I’ll swear. The crown comes not from the church, it came from God directly.
Shit is about to go down! The song “Carolus Rex” by Sabaton was played on Swedish radio station Bandit Rock yesterday and has been uploaded to YouTube! There is also the Swedish version in the related videos.
“Over borders that divide the earthbound tribes. No creed and no religion, just a hundred winged souls. We will ride this thunderbird, silver shadows on the earth. A thousand leagues away, our land of birth.”
